What's new? Protect App version 2

July 29, 2019

In addition to increased user experience features, the latest update to the Protect Services App also includes a 'forgotten password' option and a 'membership card' display which effectively can replace your hard copy membership card.

If you are one of the 5,000+ members who have already downloaded our App, look out for the upgrade notification.

We require an initial registration for new users, call our Member Services Team on 1300 344 249 to have your account activated and then simply download from The App Store or Google Play.

Attention Employers

July 23, 2019

If you run a business that operates primarily in the building and construction industry, please be reminded that you are required to lodge a Taxable Payments Annual Report with the ATO where you have made payments to contractors for building and construction services.

Your TPAR should be lodged by 28 August for payments made in the 2019 financial year.

Tax free threshold rises

July 12, 2019

From 1 July this figure increased to:
$10,638 for the initial year, and
$5,320 for each full year of service with your employer.

This makes for significant savings for Protect members. Since, 2003, when we introduced our second severance account type - the GRA or Genuine Redundancy Account, we estimate to have provided our members with tax savings in excess of $75 million.
